Why G-LOFT® Insulation?

Insulation on the water must perform in cold, damp, and unpredictable conditions. That is why Grundéns has moved exclusively to G-LOFT® insulation across our insulated product range. Originally developed in 1981 for the Austrian Military, G-LOFT® is built around hollow spiral bi-component fibers engineered to deliver consistent thermal performance in wet and humid environments.

The hollow-core fiber structure traps insulating air while maintaining loft and recovery, even after compression. Unlike traditional down, G-LOFT® does not collapse or lose effectiveness when exposed to humidity, spray, or perspiration. The down-like fiber clusters create stable air pockets that retain warmth without depending on dry conditions to perform.

In marine environments where moisture is constant, G-LOFT® absorbs minimal water, dries quickly, and continues insulating even when wet. The result is reliable thermal protection, structural resilience, and predictable warmth — engineered specifically for life on the water.
